Trial Without The Error

Like Donna Summer said, “she works hard for the money”, so I can’t blame her for not wanting to part with it over sometimes overpriced beauty bounty. It’s so easy to fall for a product through a slick advertising campaign (who wouldn’t buy what Sienna Miller was selling?), but sometimes all the hype doesn’t pay off once you give the item a test-drive at home. That’s why I have so much adoration for Sephora’s Deluxe Sampler kits. They are the cash strapped gals dream come true, allowing her to test drive the cosmetic mega store’s best sellers in various beauty categories without committing to the full sized (read full priced) version before it proves its worthiness.

Get Pink'd Pink Lips Deluxe Sampler

I love me a pink lip. Be it bold and matte or light and glossy I want it and will likely buy it. So when I got my hands on the Get Pink’d sampler which includes cult classics like Stila’s Cherry Crush Stain and Smashbox’s O-Gloss along with lesser known formulas by Calvin Klein and Korres I was in beauty editor heaven. Sephora is already all about the try before you buy concept, dolling you up in store and allowing you access to almost everything on the sales floor. But with kits available for moisturizer, mascara and fragrances (things that often need a little time to get used to and see results) they are taking the concept to an entirely new level. What beauty addict isn’t going to be on board with that?

I have fallen head over heels for the sheer berry tint of Urban Decay’s Jilted and the unparalleled punch of Calvin Klein’s Mesmerize, both of which I likely never would have found without this sampler. But don’t take my word for it; indulge in the brave new world of cosmetic miniatures for yourself.

Deluxe Sampler Kits are available while quantities last at all Sephora locations. $48. 1-877-SEPHORA.
