I Choo Choo Choose You!
Those clever Swedes over at H&M are at it again, lining up yet another epic fashion collaboration and bringing the wares of luxury retailers to us regular gals. The chaos at these unveilings is also usually of epic proportions (though the Canadian ladies are notably more calm and collected than their European counterparts) and I wouldn’t expect anything less now that we are going to have a crack at snapping up pieces from—wait for it—Jimmy Choo! What woman in her right mind wouldn’t be lining up to get their hands on a pair of Choo’s for a fraction of the regular price? Check out my favourite pieces from the collection after the jump.
Though Jimmy Choo is traditionally an accessories line, for
their H&M collab they have expanded into the wonderful world of
ready-to-wear and I have to say that they knocked it out of the park.
Everything has a luxe party girl vibe, but with a tough edge. In other words,
there are no pink frilly things that Paris Hilton would be wearing whilst
dancing on tables. The other beautiful thing about this collection is that it
strikes a fine balance between on trend pieces that you have been searching for
(the thigh high boot, the one shoulder cocktail dress, classic Choo strappy
sandals) and pieces you didn’t even know you wanted until now (the embellished
brogue and the faux fur vest) all between $29.95 and $299. There’s even a few
outstanding items for the guys, so keep the boys in your life in mind during the stampede.
In all honesty, I’m usually the type to let the mass mobs hit the stores and then wait for the second stock shipment before making my way to H&M, but something about the esthetic of this collection really speaks to me. Must be my secret desire to dress like a bad girl!? If it was being offered in Calgary, I very well may have been leading the pack and snatching up as much as possible. But, since it’s not, I wish all my fellow Choo lovers in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal all the best and hope these snap shots will help you find and track your targets come Saturday, Nov. 14.
