The People Vs. Megan Fox

When I came up with the idea for a post about recreating Megan Fox’s gorgeous makeup look at the TIFF premier of "Jennifer’s Body" back in October, I never imaged the firestorm of criticism, negativity and general hate the actress would inspire in the comments field. I mean, I get that the girl is a little bit out there and that her striking looks could lead to a lot of jealousy, but I never expected people to get so bent out of shape. At one point, people even stopped attacking Fox and moved on to each other. I’ve been thinking a lot about Fox’s polarizing powers since then and have drawn a few conclusions…

All That Glitters

Two weeks ago we went gaga over Whitney Port’s gold bottom lid eyeliner and today I am pleased to report that the magic of metallic has struck again. If, like me, you have a tough time finding the perfect nude shade, a new crop of sheer gold glosses have answered our prayers. Find out more after the jump.

Do You Have Animal Instincts?

Animal prints never really fall out of favour in fashion, but right now they are everywhere. Personally, I love a good leopard print accessory (even a leopard print dress from time to time), but the print walks a very fine line between classy and trashy....

The Naked Truth

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought there was an unspoken style rule about how much skin is appropriate to show at one time? If the recent looks sported by Blake Lively, Jessica Stroup and Daisy Lowe are any indication that guideline has either died along with the “no white after Labour Day” clause or I made the whole thing up! I get it, these ladies are gorgeous, with excellent bodies to boot, but need we see all of it at once? Whatever happened to leaving a little something to the imagination? Your chance to weigh in after the jump.

The Surreal Life: Peek Inside Holt's Star-Studded Gala

Holt Renfrew knows a thing or two about style. No surprise then that their Let There Be Magenta Gala last Thursday was the most stylish event, well, possibly ever in Calgary's history. The second floor of the brand new Calgary store was transformed into a partygoer's heaven complete with a DJ set from Samantha Ronson and a splattering of A-List celebs mingling amongst the crowd. Last week you all voted on what I should wear to the ever so slightly intimidating fashion parade and here's your chance to check out the winning look and find out who was in attendance....

Date Wear Dilemmas

This will sound very strange, but I am researching dating. This week begins a seemingly endless list of singles events for myself and my other single female friends who I’m dragging along on these adventures. Speed dating, cooking classes, you name it, we will be doing it— all in the name of research, of course. These events present quite a conundrum in the wardrobe department, however, since most of them suggest dressing as you would for a first date. There are two major problems with those guidelines. Firstly, one usually knows the person they will be going on said first date with and what they will be doing and dress accordingly. Secondly, I’m not sure I’ve ever been on a proper first date? Chime in after the jump.

Feather Hair Clips: Hooray or No Way?

If you’re looking to get noticed (and who isn't really?) one surefire way to do so is by following Eva Mendes’s lead and adding a giant feathered accessory to the side of your head. It’s a controversial move, but I think on Ms. Mendes it just might work. You be the judge after the jump.

To Fur or Not To Fur, That Is The Question

In this day and age, when beautiful faux furs are rampantly available, I would never encourage anyone to buy a new one. When it comes to vintage pieces, however, I can’t quite decide whether I’m cool with them or not—I mean, the animals have already died, so shouldn’t we wear them for as many generations as possible so it wasn’t completely in vain? Get your chance to sound off about it after the jump.

New Looks For The Ladies Of New Moon

Last night marked the official North American premiere of the second installment of the Twilight saga, New Moon. It was a star-studded evening in L.A. filled with hits and misses on the red carpet. When it comes to the fashion choices of three of film’s leading ladies, one of them nailed it, one of them wins the most improved prize and one of them, well, she will have another chance at the Eclipse premiere. Judge for yourself after the jump.
