Heidi-Hoe?

We are all well aware that Heidi Montag and her husband, The Prince of Darkness, oh wait I’m sorry, Spencer Pratt, have done some pretty questionable things in the name of publicity. In fact, by now I suspect we are all pretty used to their staged photo shoots, staged pregnancy scares and staged “music videos”. What I was not expecting from Montag, however, was People magazine’s cover story revealing that the 23-year-old had undergone 10 plastic surgeries in one shot this November, leaving her looking like a slightly trannylicious/blowup doll version of her former self…

I’m not at all adverse to plastic surgery. If someone wants to feel better about themselves or feel more attractive that is certainly their right. I myself have contemplated a bit of preventative botox (haven't done it yet) and am sure that when I get older and things start to head south I will seriously consider lifting the girls back up to where they should be. The problem I have with Heidi’s surgeries is that she is simply too young to be going to such extremes. 10 surgeries, not to mention the augmentations she had before this round, is straying into questionable sanity territory. I really don't want her to end up looking like that freaky cat lady by the time she turns 30.

Heidi was an attractive girl to begin with. When The Hills first started in 2006, Heidi was absolutely adorable, but over the years we have watched her transform. First she became this completely vapid Hollywood personality and now finally she has the face and bod to match. Mostly, though, reading Heidi’s comments about how she is now the “best version” of herself just makes me sad and, quite frankly, a little concerned for her. What has to happen to a woman, or how much insecurity does she have to harbour to do this type of thing to herself? I get that she is into being “sexy”, her tarty clothing line attempt and Playboy spread made that clear, but who told Heidi that adult film stars were good plastic surgery role models? Big boobs are great and all, but how is her back going to feel after ten years of those F Cups (I kid you not) strapped to her chest?

The thing about Heidi’s surgeries is that they can’t really be considered enhancements, as she is barely recognizable anymore. Yes, beauty is subjective and yes, there is a ton of pressure on celebrities (technically, Heidi qualifies) to look beautiful, but there is something deeply wrong with a 23-year-old woman in the prime of her life (and the prime of her physical beauty) trying to erase every trace of who she is….or I guess at this point it’s who she was?

Let’s discuss: What do you think about Heidi’s recent surgeries? Can you even recognize her? Do you think she’s just looking for attention (as usual)? Or could there be some underlying issues here? What do you think of the results? Are you as saddened by this as I am? Would you ever consider getting something tweaked if money was no object? We want to hear from you below!
