My New Obsession: Jo Malone Fragrance Chronicles

When it comes to fragrances I am a fairly solid traditionalist—Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle for everyday and occasionally Burberry Brit if I’m really looking to spice things up. There is a new Jo Malone fragrance chronicle on the block (just released on Monday) that has me completely rethinking my usual scent wardrobe….

RRChronicles I’ve been a big fan of Jo Malone’s fresh natural scents for a while now, but I usually used all my precious dollars on their candles rather than their perfumes. In retrospect, that could have been a mistake as I could have been enjoying the irresistibly elegant Red Roses Cologne for over a decade now!

I typically opt for more citrus-based scents than florals, but the moment my nose caught a whiff of the brand spanking new Red Roses Fragrance Chronicles I was hooked. Of course, the Red Roses cologne is intriguing on its own, but the beauty of this product is the option to layer it over three very different base notes. I add a hint of Moroccan Mint Leaf when I’m looking for a refreshing zing, say on Monday mornings. When I’m feeling extra girly, I layer it over the Ice Rose elixir. And for those especially sexy nights (Valentine’s Day, anyone?) I add a touch of rich Honeycomb—Delicious! If you’re still trying to figure out what you would like for V-day I highly recommend this clever little package. It is sure to be a gift that keeps on giving unlike a dozen real roses that will be tired and wilting after a week!
The Red Roses Fragrance Chronicles retails for $110 exclusively at Holt Renfrew.

So tell me: What’s your signature scent? Do you stick with one tried and true perfume of do you like to mix it up? Think this set is as brilliant as I do? Already a big fan of Jo Malone products? What’s your favourite of theirs? Will you be asking for the chronicles this V-day or perhaps rewarding yourself?
