Are You A Seasonal Dyer?

This time of year, most of us are anxiously waiting for the mercury to rise enough to start whipping out the pieces of spring clothes we have stashed away during the long hard winter. Springing the clocks forward is one strong sign that warmer weather is on the way, but if you are anything like me, the surefire way to tell the seasons are changing is the unexplainable desire that comes over me twice annually prompting me to drastically change my hair colour.

Aniston HAir Just like clockwork, I started to get the seasonal dying urge mid February so I called up my trusty Calgary hairdresser and booked in for a whole head of sun kissed blonde foils on March 13 (just seemed like the perfect date to me). My inspiration was the beachy, windswept Jennifer Aniston from last years Vogue cover shoot and the stylist knocked it out of the park. She skillfully transformed my wintery brunette locks into the perfect early spring look, weaving multiple shades of blonde seamlessly together. Undoubtedly, when September comes around the feeling will strike again for a darker, more dramatic look, but until then, spring has officially sprung in my books! I'm starting to wonder, however, if I am alone in this seasonal dying urge? Perhaps I am just like a wild rabbit that needs to change my coat to be properly camouflaged in my environment? Now if only, like the rabbit, I didn't have to pay for my change of hue!

What about you? Do you subscribe to the seasonal dying philosophy or do you usually keep your hair in the same tonal range year round? Are there any other beauty rituals you do seasonally? Discuss!
