Confessions of a Concealaholic
Oh, how I wish I were clever enough to come up with a
headline like that all on my own, but alas, the lovely people of Benefit
Cosmetics did it for me when they created their new mega-cool concealer kit, just
released this month. Stocked with all of the brand’s pimple/tired eyes/and
general imperfection fighters, this is the girl-on-the-go’s new secret weapon
for achieving complexion perfection…
I will be the first to admit that I’m a concealer
enthusiast. Even when my skin is behaving itself it is far from perfect and we all know there
is just nothing like an absolutely flawless face to start the day off right. Nothing
ruins my mood faster than a festering red pimple or big dark bags under my eyes
(yes people, the glamorous nights of partying come along with the not so glamorous
look of a hangover) hence my eternal quest for the best and most natural
concealing products this world has to offer!
I have been a devoted fan of YSL’s Touche Eclat for the last
5 years (so much so, I even understand why some men can’t resist its lures).
However, it's not a concealer in the traditional sense, but rather an
illuminator—awesome for creating a little light on the face, but not ideal for
full on coverage. The reason I’m so enamoured with this Benefit kit is that it
handles all your possible concealing woes in one nifty package (yes, I just
said nifty…it’s that cool!) Looking for an all over brightening effect? “That
Gal” brightening primer is just the ticket. More concerned about a pesky
pimple? Custom blend bo-ing 01 and 02 to erase it. Is an instant eyelift what
you desire? Eye Bright and Lemon Aid have got you covered. Literally. All that
lifesaving for just $44—what beauty addict could resist?
Us concealaholics need to stick together; since I have shared my new favourite product with you I want to hear about yours. What’s your ultimate concealing weapon? Is it best for dark circles, imperfections, or zits? What makes it stand out to you? Have any application tips we should know about? Are you a brush user or do you just rely on a good old-fashioned finger dab? How do you keep things from looking cakey? Sharing is caring ladies, so sound off about all things concealer below.
