Copycat: Kristen Stewart’s Pretty Pink Spring Look

Hits and Disses may not have thought much of Kristen Stewart’s ensemble at the premier of The Runaways last week (actually, the diss had more to do with KStew’s usual lack of posture than her designer coral confection), but her fresh and youthful rosy makeup sure caught my eye! Not only was it refreshing to see Stewart with such a light-handed and perfectly pink look happening, but this face is the perfect transitional spring look for all us non-superstar ladies too! I caught up with Vancouver makeup artist, Marlayna Pincott to get all the details on how to nail the look at home.

Kristen Stewart Copycat EYES:

-While she is still opting for a smoky eye, Kristen has opted for a trendy softer grey version this time around. To best achieve this look, you will need a good pencil liner and at least two shades of grey shadow such as the Cordura or Paris duo shadow palettes by Nars and Coffee eye pencil by MAC (slightly softer than the stark contrast of black liner).

-Start by applying the lighter grey around your eye and feather it out almost half a centimeter to get a slightly winged look.

-Add a very thin line of eyeliner all the way around both the top and bottom lids for definition, but make sure not to get too carried away—this look is all about soft and pretty remember!

- Now you can go in with the darker grey shadow and smudge it along the liner to create a nice colour gradient from liner to your extended crease. As usual, it’s all about the blending.

-For those ladies with more olive skin tones, a nice light taupe as a highlighter is ideal. For those blessed with alabaster skin like Stewart’s, however, your brow bones could be accentuated with a touch of matte vanilla shadow, or just left bare in contrast to the greys.

-If it’s an extra special look you are after, consider adding a few individual fake lashes after you curl and apply mascara to your own.

FACE:

-As for foundation, it’s extremely natural for this look so you may want to go so far as to just use a tinted moisturizer (Marlayna loves Laura Mercier’s) and apply concealer as needed.

-Apply a sheer blush in a light pink shade (Marlayna’s pick is Tarina Tarantino Blush in Charm and mine is The Body Shop’s Kiss of Colour Cheek Blush in Vibrant Rose) to the apples of your cheeks for a youthful flush.

LIPS:

-To get Stewart’s barely there pink lip colour, you are going to want a very sheer formula that is neither too glossy nor too matte. Our pick? Tarina Tarantino conditioning lip sheen in Cameo—you can’t beat a lip product that keeps you looking good and hydrated at the same time.

Nails Crop NAILS:

Stewart’s mug was definitely looking mighty fine, but it was her unexpected nail polish choice that really hooked me. A little bit mauve + a little bronzed = a whole lot of hot. We suggest picking a bronze that suits your skin tone from the China Glaze collection if you are in the market, but I’m wondering if you guys know of a shade that is a dead ringer for this one?

Let’s discuss: What do you think of KStew’s new look? Interested in giving it a try for yourself or would you never consider copying her? Thoughts on the nail polish? Know of a perfect shade to match it? As psyched about spring makeup in general as we are? Sound off below!
