Do You Pull Double Duty With Any Of Your Products?

Every year after the Oscars, Glamour magazine’s Girls In The Beauty Department blog do a rundown of all the lipsticks and glosses the stars were wearing at the event. While that information is all well and good (especially if you’ve fallen head over heels for a particular shade from the red carpet) it wasn’t the lipsticks themselves that interested me, but rather the fact that some major stars found a second use for their lip colours.

Signature Style: Did The SATC Ladies Learn From Their Characters?

Last week, we took a (rather skeptical) look at Katherine Heigl’s wardrobe malfunction at the ShoWest Convention, but she wasn’t the only star making a splash in Las Vegas. Three of Sex and the City’s fab four were on hand to promote their upcoming second film and I have to say that they were looking even better than usual. Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker were dressed to the nines for two separate appearances at the conference and since I haven’t seen them together in a while I was taken aback by each of the actresses unique style…

Risky Business: Hollywood Took Some Hair Risks, But Did They Pay Off?

It was seemingly a wild weekend for Hollywood hair. I don’t want to say that celebrities have gotten predictable when it comes to their luscious locks, but it isn’t exactly uncommon to see three quarters of the starlets at any given event with the same extra long extensions/extra loose curls look going on. There was no shortage of that go-to look at this past weekend’s events, but I was surprised by a number a riskier styles, cuts and colours sported by some of the most unlikely of celebrities. See what I’m talking about and give us your thoughts on the looks after the jump.

That Stinks: Fragrances Banned In Detroit

After the city of Detroit recently paid $100,000 to a city employee who complained that her co-worker’s perfume made it too difficult for her to do her work, they are now “urging” all people working in the city to avoid "colognes, aftershave lotions, perfumes, deodorants, [and] body/face lotions." Sure, there are certain instances in which people’s fragrances can be over powering and even distracting, but can’t these be worked out on a case-to-case basis rather than a citywide ban?

Need A Boost: Are Pushup Bras Fall’s Must Have?

If the recent Louis Vuitton and Prada autumn 2010 collections are any indication, not only are the waifish models of yesteryear going to be giving way to the more voluptuous vixens normally designated to the Victoria’s Secret shows, but ladies around the globe will be investing in a little fashion secret of their own come fall…

Extreme Tattooing: Sexy Or Seedy?

By now, most of us have had the rather unfortunate experience of being virtually “introduced” to tattoo model, Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, better known as Jesse James’ alleged mistress. While the whole ordeal is rather disturbing—especially after watching James on the verge of tears during Bullock's Oscars acceptance speech and inevitably thinking “what an awesome couple!”—What gets to me most is how James could trade in such a classic beauty like Bullock, for a little hot pepper from this poor man’s version of Kat Von D?

Have You Ever Suffered A Wardrobe Malfunction?

I know that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas and all, but I’m pretty sure that while accepting an award for Best Female Star of The Year at the ShoWest Convention is not the optimal time to flash. Unfortunately, this was the exact scenario that actress Katherine Heigl faced when the strap of her red cocktail dress "snapped" as she accepted her honour. Luckily for Heigl, the ever-so-helpful presenter, Billy Bush, was there to, um, hold things together while she said a few words and there were plenty of safety pins in place before she faced the photographers….

Do you get your hair blown out?

A few years ago, when I was working at a women’s magazine, the beauty editor said she thought someone should open up blow-out places that were like nail salons – cheap and quick and the kind of place you could stop in between haircuts for a quick style fix without an appointment. It’s too bad she didn’t invest in such a business because in the last couple of years, it seems blow-out salons have taken off.

Confessions of a Concealaholic

Oh, how I wish I were clever enough to come up with a headline like that all on my own, but alas, the lovely people of Benefit Cosmetics did it for me when they created their new mega-cool concealer kit, just released this month. Stocked with all of the brand’s pimple/tired eyes/and general imperfection fighters, this is the girl-on-the-go’s new secret weapon for achieving complexion perfection…
