Oprah's Cleaning Out Her Closet And You Could Score Her Castoffs

Cleaning out your makeup bag is one thing, but cleaning out your closet, well, that can just be a plain old nightmare. When your closet is as big as Oprah Winfrey’s, however, that’s when a professional interventionist comes in handy. Luckily for O, she has one on staff at her magazine, otherwise known as Creative Director, Adam Glassman. The queen of daytime has been doing just that (with the help of Glassman, naturally) and you won’t believe what she’s doing with her designer castoffs….

Oprah If you, like soooo many ladies out there, are a huge fan of Ms. Winfrey then you will likely be overjoyed to know that starting today (March 1) she has put 150 personal items of clothing and accessories up for auction on eBay, to benefit the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa. Sure, Oprah has made some questionable fashion choices in the past (who didn't in the 80's?), but you know that amongst the style rubble there are bound to be a few gems. It’s true that money cannot buy taste, but it can buy designers like Chanel and Jimmy Choo and when you have them on your side, the rest just seems to fall into place.

With The Oprah Winfrey Show leaving the airwaves next year, this just might be your chance to own a little piece of television history. So, let the bidding begin…or just check out the treasures and tragedies Oprah has been hiding in her closet for the last decade!

"Oprah’s Great Closet Cleanout" gets me thinking: How often do you deal with your closet? What’s your strategy when you do it? Sounds like Oprah gets a bit anxious about it, do you get stressed or is the whole ordeal cathartic? Are you interested in owning Oprah’s old stuff or is this a ridiculous way to raise money for her charity? Discuss!
