Sneak Peak: MAC's Drool-Worthy Liberty of London Collection
If you are in the market for a little pre-spring pick me up,
do I have just the ticket for you! From March 11th to early May, MAC Cosmetics
is offering one of the most wearable bold colour collections that I have ever
had the pleasure of seeing. Infused with popping pinks (my favourite product is
the Petals & Peacock lipstick—so Malibu Barbie chic!), juicy corals and
saturated purples and teals the Liberty of London collection strikes the
perfect balance between the grit and glam of Londontown. See for yourself after
the jump.
Almost as alluring as the drool-worthy makeup shades is the
adorable packaging (it’s even cuter in person) this collection comes in. Based
on the classic Strawberry Thief pattern by English textile guru, William
Morris, circa 1880, these cosmetic gems are wrapped in brightly coloured bits
of flora and fauna in stark contrast with their glossy white background. Now,
I’m not saying that one should base their cosmetic purchases on whether or not
they are esthetically pleasing, but cute on their own and cuteifying (yes, I
made that word up) on you, is an unbeatable product in my books. And let’s be
honest, who isn’t persuaded by the look of certain products? Lipsticks and
compacts are on display fairly often in the ladies’ room, so why shouldn’t they
be a bit drool worthy?
Let’s discuss: What do you think of the Liberty London
collection? Love the brights as much as I do, or thinking about opting for a
more subdued palette this spring? Going to be lining up to get your hands on a
piece of this collection next week? What’s the sexiest looking product you own?
Did its packaging have anything to do with why you bought it? Think more
retailers should consider the fun-factor of their packaging?
