SATC 2: Did The Style Live Up To All The Hype?
Surely a sign that I am getting old (or perhaps that I am becoming a hermit?), braving the mobs at the local cineplex on the opening weekend of Sex and the City 2 just seemed like too much mayhem to fathom. Instead I logged some serious time with Cosmo TV’s SATC marathon and remembered just why these ladies became style icons—that show was seriously good! While I have yet to see the film, I have been keeping tabs on the reviews, and frankly, I didn’t expect the critics to embrace the plot, but I did expect the styling to save the whole production. According to the critics, not so much....

Topshop is coming to Canada!
Move over Zara … the famed cheap-and-chic U.K. label Topshop is about to open its doors in Canada ... finally!
Are Low Heels Low On Sex Appeal?
I probably love high heels more than what is considered to
be a healthy amount. I don’t just find them incredibly provocative on a woman,
I love heels enough on their own that I have a bookshelf filled with my most
beautiful pairs on display in my living room. To me they are art—needless to
say, I don’t live with a man! My love and adoration for high heels, however,
sometimes leads me to buying pairs that look so good I overlook how bad they
make my feet feel.

Love It Or Lose It: Cut-Offs & Boots
Young Hollywood loves a trend. Whether it is the bandage
dress, plaid shirts or the cinnamon bun inspired updo, once one starlet is
spotted in it it’s only be a matter of days before the trickle down effect
begins. Most of the time, even if the trend is distasteful, it is ignored
easily enough. This time, however, the dichotomy between warm-weather embracing
cut-offs and the decidedly wintery footwear of choice is more difficult to
overlook.

72 Percent Of Americans Believe Tanned Skin Is More Attractive: What Do Canadians Think?
A few weeks ago we discussed a study that found tanning to
be a truly addictive behaviour. Now a study by the American Academy of Dermatology claims that 72% of Americans believe that people look better with a
tan—maybe it’s not the act of tanning that people are addicted to after all,
maybe it really is a complete addiction to vanity?

How Do Guys Really Feel About Short Hair?
When I was in ninth grade, I was really into (ok, borderline
obsessed with) Gwen Stefani and Natalie Imbruglia. Both were kick-ass female
musicians with charisma coming out of every pore and both had killer short
haircuts at the time. It took me a while, but eventually I worked up the
courage to go to a rather chi-chi salon and have my fabulously flamboyant hairdresser crop my beyond shoulder-length hair into a perfect interpretation of
Imbruglia’s effortlessly chic razor-cut pixie (remember the music video for
“Torn”?) I then marched myself over to my best friend’s house (he’s a guy) to
continue on with our weekend plans and show off my courageous cut in all it’s
straight for the salon glory….

Would You Rather: Super-Sized or Super-Skinny Pants?
Phew, TGIF, indeed! And what could be a better way to start
this long weekend off right than with a fun little game of fashion would you
rather? It’s true that almost anything goes when it comes to trouser
silhouettes these days, but this past week found two of Hollywood’s loveliest
blonds (they look oddly similar from the waist up actually) wearing the
extremes of the pants spectrum with questionable results…

Survey Finds Women Wear $1500 Worth Of Stuff A Day: What's Your Total?
Oh how I love the oddity of some of the research that comes
out of the UK. Just a few weeks ago we discussed a British study that implied
that blonds make more money than brunettes and now we have been blessed with an
equally amusing bit of research that states that women, on average, wear $1500
worth of merchandise a day. Why such topics are worthy or extensive research, I
don’t know, but it might be fun to add up the values of the items in our
ensembles and see how far above or below the average we may be?

Loving Her Look: Michelle Williams
For the most part, there is a bit of a formula for
celebrities looking good at photo ops. The formula changes slightly from red
carpet to more casual settings, but in general a beautiful starlet + a head
full of wavy extensions + glowy makeup (think J.Lo) + a statement making
ensemble = a spot on the hit list rather than the diss list. It’s only happened
once before (when Kristen Stewart cleaned up her act), but every now and then,
a celeb will attend an event looking so remarkably refreshing I feel the need
to give her look immediate and copious amounts of praise….

Wow, Tami sounds like you are pretty anti-police. Not sure where you got your story from but it sure as hell is not the same one the rest of us heard. She was not defending herself or her husband against police brutatlity or anything of the like. She was drunk and stupid, end of story. Perhaps you should get some therapy for that obvious mistrust of any kind of authority.

Reese Witherspoon: From Brunette To Blonde And All's Forgiven? - Alice says said:
She made a mistake and owned up to it immediately. She was mortified by her own behaviour. This is not normal behviour for her, she is hardly a Lindsay Lohan. Why doesn't she deserve to be forgiven? I would imagine each and every one of us can find at least one episode in our own past that was less than stellar. Get over it.
