Gold Finger: Are Jessica Alba's Gold Nails A Do Or A Don't?

Oh, to be blessed with a golden complexion like Jessica Alba's —it just seems to me that a wider range of cosmetic colours would be open to you. It’s important to note, though, that just because you can wear a certain shade doesn’t necessarily mean that you should. I fear this may be the case with the flashy gold nail polish Alba sported a few days ago at the premiere of Machete. You decide whether it was a do or a don’t after the jump.

Love It or Loathe It: The Emmy Edition

I don’t know about the rest of you, but while the “Glee Club Competition” opener of the Emmy’s blew me away, I was less than impressed by the red carpet wardrobe choices that came out to play last night. The stars generally looked nice, but is nice really what we are going for when it comes to celebrating the year in television? Call me crazy, but if you are getting your wardrobe for free and have a team of stylists and makeup artists behind you, I feel like the bar should be set a little higher! So while the hits were rather ho-hum there were a few red carpet moments that made me go, “hmmm?” Check them out for yourself and sound off after the jump.

How Often Do You Deal With Your Closet?

If the television and radio ads are correct, September is “the most wonderful time of the year” for most of you out there. For me, however, the shift into fall instills fear and dread as I know one of my least favourite household activities is looming on the horizon. As the final hints of summer disappear, so too will many of my well-loved clothing articles, as it is time to conduct my annual closet clean out.

Mega Man-Cleave: Is It A Do or A Don’t?

There’s no doubt in my mind that cleavage is an attention getter. Men are just biologically predisposed to ogling a nice pair on display, so one surefire way of grabbing a guys eye is by hoisting the ladies up and flashing a little skin. Perhaps it’s this same fascination with what they don’t have that is the driving force behind the ridiculously low V-neck shirts that many of Tinsel town’s leading men have been parading around in lately? I hate to break it the lads, but flashing a bit of pectoral just doesn’t have the same lust-inducing effect on the ladies….

No Sexy Skivvies For These British Bobbies

I don’t know what type of incident could have possibly put this piece of British bureaucracy in motion, but it must have been a doozy! According to the UK’s Daily Express, “West Midlands bobbies are under strict orders to turn up with ‘inconspicuous’ underwear of an ‘appropriate colour’ beneath their uniforms.” As for what qualifies as “appropriate” and who will be enforcing this policy, well that just sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen if you ask me…

Bet You Can’t Guess NYC’s New “Anti-Style” Style Muse!

Fashion is weird at the best of times. Just when you think there is absolutely no chance of something that was quite hideous the first time around falling back into favour, there it is walking down Morton Street. According to The New York Times, this is exactly what has been taking place in the Big Apple in the form of the city’s most hip and happening knowingly or unknowingly adopting an unlikely style muse. Namely: Seinfeld’s Elaine Benes.

Love It or Loathe It: Drew Barrymore’s Two-Toned Boho Look?

Before everyone gets their panties in a twist defending Drew Barrymore against my cruel and usual critique of her look at the London premiere of her new film Going The Distance, let’s get one thing straight. The bottom line is I love Drew. She’s the personification of a cool, independent free-spirited woman and I appreciate all of that very much. Another fact, however, is that I am a style blogger and you, my friends, are style enthusiasts. It is, therefore, our duty to reflect upon the looks that celebrities like Drew put forth at certain social engagements and decide whether or not they were putting their best foot (or face, as the case may be) forward….

Aniston Vs. Jolie: Who Is Prettiest In Peach?

Jennifer Aniston is the crowned queen of understated chic and the woman can rock a glowing beachy complexion like nobody’s business. It would seem though, that Aniston’s  nemesis (real or fabricated by the media we may never know), Angelina Jolie, is vying for the title of “prettiest in peach” these days, as she showed up to a recent premier of her new film Salt looking positively Anistonesque....

Are Men Feeling Anxious About Hat Etiquette?

I wouldn’t exactly say that the resurgence of hats in menswear is breaking news these days, but The Wall Street Journal seems to believe that there is new confusion surrounding modern “hatiquette”, if you will, and whether or not the younger generation of fedora enthusiasts has any concept of hat-based manners…

Survey Says: Women Try On 21,000 Garments In A Lifetime

Like it or not, fall is looming on the horizon. I don’t know about you, but for me the feeling of an inevitable season change gets me thinking a lot about the possibilities of next season's wardrobe and the many hours of shopping that come along with building it. I am a firm believer that one must try before you buy; if you don’t love an item in the changing room, you aren’t going to love it when you get it home. But I am aware that a lot of ladies don’t exactly enjoy the changing room experience. That’s why I was so shocked by the findings of a new study out of England...
