How To Get Pippa Middleton's Natural Beauty Look

Spl274032_009

Forget the new princess—it's all about Pippa Middleton these days. Ever since Kate and William wed it seems her lil' sis has stolen the spotlight. First there was Pippa's coveted behind, then a rumoured tryst with William's baby bro Harry. What's had me admiring the new Brit It girl all this time, however, is her gorgeous glow.

All this talk of Pippa is proof that au naturale is still the chicest way to roll and there's no better time to sport it than summer. I spoke with M.A.C Senior Artist Melissa Gibson for a step-by-step guide to Pippa's girl next door beauty:

Wedding Gown Predictions For Kim Kardashian

Spl292416_009

Kim Kardashian and bridal guru Vera Wang were "caught" by the paparazzi in New York City this week leading everyone to believe that the two were discussing Kim's wedding gown for her upcoming nuptials to NBA player Kris Humphries.

Given the reality star's gift for being conspicuous, unless there's a "Kim fires Vera" episode to Keeping Up With The Kardashians season 6, odds are pretty good that we now know who the dress designer is, but that doesn't mean that we know what it will look like. Given Kim's signature styles, however, I'm venturing to take a few guesses:

John Galliano Is Replaced At His Label, So What's Next For The Troubled Designer?

Spl110104_002

Late last week rumours surfaced that LVMH, the fashion giant in command of both John Galliano and Dior, was discussing the possibility of reinstating Galliano at the head of his namesake label. This week, those rumours have been laid to rest.

Is Your Nail Salon Safe? The Top 3 Things To Look For

IStock_000009960524XSmall

Nail salons scare me. Every time my friends discuss their favourite mani/pedi joints, I flashback to that Twinrix commercial that warns of Hepatitis B living on salon surfaces. Since I'm not the only germaphobe out there, I sat down in Ashley Stewart's pedicure chair at the historic Windermere House's new Sanctuary Spa in Muskoka, Ontario for a foot rub and the 411 on nail salon safety.

Do you wear a sun hat? I don’t (but these might convince me)

Ever since I turned 30, I’ve been much better about sunscreen than I used to be. I may not have slathered on the baby oil and used foil reflectors like my sun-happy parents did back in the day, but in my carefree youth, I wore SPF 8, which now sounds just as crazy. I graduated to 15 sometime around the end of high school and to 30 in my mid-20s. Lately I’ve been all about the 50, and where I used to only apply sunscreen when I was (ahem) sunbathing, I now use it most days.

New American Medical Association Policy Seeks To Put An End To Altered Photos

IStock_000012565683XSmall

Earlier this month, when model Caroline Louise Forsling announced her lawsuit against Estée Lauder for "false advertisement and deceptive ads", I asked you if advertisers should be allowed to enhance images or falsely represent their products. Through your ranging answers a "no" prevailed, so I thought I would update you on the latest news in this ongoing debate.

Colour and Creativity Abound At The Crystal Light Designer Purse Challenge

Ask anyone who knows me what my fashion weakness is and they’ll tell you without any hesitation that it’s purses. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved carrying a purse and my closet is full of them in every shape, size, brand and colour.

My eyes lit up when I saw the invitation to the Crystal Light Designer Purse Challenge this week where I got to see eight amazing purses designed by fashion students. As I checked out the purses it really got me thinking about how I used to dream of being a fashion designer. In the long run, I didn’t end up going that route, but the designs really inspired me and made think about where my inspirations would have come from.

The creativity and professional look of the bags completely blew me away and, best of all, they were inspired by the flavours of Crystal Light (yes, I’m talking about the fruit flavouring you add to water). This may sound a bit unusual at first, but just wait until you see the designs!

Here’s a look at a few of my favourites:

Street Style: Lainey Gossip's Loyal Fans Bring Out Their Best Fashions For SMUT Soirée 2011

Insider Hollywood information wasn't the only thing in high demand at The Society Toronto's 6th annual SMUT Soirée this week. The gossip session also featured a Style Award this year, so the Smut Hounds (as Lainey, aka  Elaine Lui who writes the popular blog laineygossip.com and hosts the event, lovingly calls them) took instruction and dressed to impress.

With a $2000 gift certificate to The Bay on the line, brightly coloured frocks, adorable cocktail dresses, and too-cute onesies piled into the gorgeous outdoor space at Toronto's Evergreen Brick Works. Luckily The Society's gorgeous founders, Ashley Dempster and Amanda Blakley, as well as Toronto Director Martina Stritesky, were disqualified from the running since they stole the style spotlight, as always. Lainey, and her eTalk crew (she acts as a regular correspondent for the entertainment show) were also out in high style. She was sporting a pair of Alexander Wang heels I've been eyeing for months, while producer Sasha Tong, who was one of the Style Award judges alongside The Bay's Christopher Sherman, looked perfectly chic with a turquoise pendant popping against a short grey frock.

So who took home the $2000 in the end? Tong and Sherman narrowed it down to four lucky finalists and Lainey's readers voted for the winner currently on display at Laineygossip.com. But before you go, scroll through the pics below for the final four and some other stylish favourites:

Wacky Beauty Tip: Krazy Glue Beats Band-Aids For Blisters

IStock_000001828834XSmall

The other day I was walking down the street with my boyfriend, bemoaning the fact that I'm running out of wearable sandals. As the weather warms I tend to wear one pair until I'm bleeding and blistered, then move on to the next, and the next, and so on, until I start the cycle anew and, well, I'm almost ready for another go-round.

Then he says: "Why don't you just Krazy Glue your blisters?" Say wha? Don't be ridiculous. Everyone knows you're not supposed to get Krazy Glue on your skin—I'm not gonna wipe it on there intentionally. "Whatever," he says, "it works."

Huh.

Why Laser Hair Removal Is Way Better Than Waxing

IStock_000010574240XSmall

As you may or may not have heard, to complement November's Movember, July has been renamed Julyna. Where men grow moustaches for prostate cancer at the end of the year, the first summer month will now be taken over by groomed vaginas in support of cervical cancer.

How women will opt to manage their hair-down-there for this cheeky fundraiser is, of course, a personal choice, but - at the risk of getting way too personal, I'd like to recommend laser. Why? Because I'm a user and big time advocate and while I realize that the term laser is frightening in and of itself, here are a few fun facts to consider in its favour:
