5 Reasons Everyone Needs a Spa Day Post-Holidays

Use of the pool, hot tub, and steam room are included with treatments at The Spa at Four Seasons Toronto.
The holidays are over and you have the dehydrated skin, sore throat, extra 5 pounds, and general malaise to prove it. You need a spa day. Don't believe me? I did the leg work at The Spa at Four Seasons Toronto to prove it, and between my swim, steam, and aromatherapy massage I uncovered five great reasons why a post-holiday cool down is a must. You're welcome.
#1: Detox

Since lifting a fork to your mouth doesn't count as activity, you likely haven't done much in the way of exercise this Christmas. Believe it or not, massaging your muscles is in fact a great way to exercise them, while also ridding your blood of toxins. The Four Seasons Spa is also equipped with a range of facials that will detox, deep clean, purify, calm, and tighten your skin.

#2: Increase Circulation

Between the appetizer trays and mega-meals, your digestive system has just taken a beating. Even those with dietary restrictions tend to bend the rules over the holidays out of politeness and gluttony. Hot water therapies and massage treatments will increase your circulation and help your digestive system get back on track.

#3: Moisturize

You've been consuming alcohol in overheated rooms and shovelling snow in the cold, so at this point, your skin's moisture is essentially non-existent. Water therapies like swimming and steaming will directly enhance your skin's moisture and thanks to the yummy fruits and flavoured waters up for grabs all around the Four Seasons' rest areas, you can nourish from the inside out, as well.

#4: Erase Sleepless Nights

If you have a Santa-obsessed little one, then you may have been up before the crack of dawn on Christmas morning. One of my favourite treatments at the Four Seasons Spa is the Bye Bye Puffy eye treatment which involves heavily-medicated pads that will decrease puffiness and lighten dark circles.

#5: You Deserve It

Holidays—what holiday? You've been cooking, cleaning, wrapping, packing, hosting, and stressing over every last detail. Remember you? Yeah, you! Take a load off.

Have your say! What's your biggest beauty complaint post-holidays?
