The Billboard Music Awards took place this weekend and there seemed to be an unspoken theme: sex. Between the über-sheer and barely-there red carpet fashions and Nicki Minaj's onstage lap dance, there were far too many visual distractions to focus on the music.

Since her unfortunate ride in the back of a cop car, Reese Witherspoon has been noticeably more accommodating to the paparazzi. As such we've been inundated with photos of her every move. "Reese smiles at soccer practice", "Reese and family at the airport", and now "Reese as a blond!" I'm not saying it's anything more than coincidence, but…okay, yes I am.

Go punk or go ghome! Madonna takes the theme to the extreme.

Despite the punk theme at last night's MET Gala, many stars bypassed the invite and wore whatever they pleased. Luckily, there were a few stars who brought their inner punk rocker out to play.

#1 SLICK HAIR AND DARK EYES
If you're pressed for a punk aesthetic, beauty is an easy way to get the look. Stars like Lena Dunham, Karolina Kurkova, and Kerry Washington slicked back their hair and heavily contoured the eyes with wet black shadows for a nearly gothic finish. Anne Hathaway went sleek with her hair as well, and shocked the crowd with a bleach blonde shade—a big change from her usually dark 'do. Nicole Richie switched up her colour as well, wearing a chalky pastel blue that looked muddy and thick. Those rebellious style change-ups are what punk is all about!

Keira Knightley wed her beau James Righton in France this weekend. It was believed that the nuptials were imminent after Righton and several family members arrived in France, so when the couple arrived at the town hall in Mazan, no one was surprised.

There were, however, a few unexpected elements surrounding the event. As far as celebrity weddings go, this one was refreshingly low-key. The ceremony was reportedly small, including under a dozen people, and the reception took place at Keira's rural farm house where she was seen stringing paper balls from the trees.

Last week, Jennifer Lawrence made a bold move and showed that less is really more by going bare-faced to the premiere of The Great Gatsby in New York. 

The minimal to no-makeup look is a change for Lawrence, who usually opts for smokey eyes and pink lips when hitting the red carpet. But at only 22 years old, why shouldn't Lawrence show off her youthful and flawless complexion?

Kris Jenner, the original K in the Kardashian clan, hit the red carpet this week in a Valentino dress. The red lace number drew quite a bit of attention, but not because of its figure hugging fit. It was because it once hugged the hips of Kris' younger daughter Kim.

Of course this now gives the weekly rags a perfect "who wore it better" scenario, but beyond that, I can't really see what the big deal is. The look is age appropriate in both cases, and really - doesn't it make sense that there is a like-mother-like-daughter element to our fashion sense?

When three major actresses dye their hair the same shade, a trend is born. As such, thanks to Rachel McAdams, Megan Fox, and Dianna Agron, redheads are now having a moment. (Okay, the return of Mad Men might also have a little something to do with it too...) Each star made the change over the last few weeks: Megan for a role and presumably the same goes for Dianna, while Rachel - a hair colour chameleon who has worn every shade under the rainbow - reportedly said, "My mother is a redhead, so I thought maybe I could pull it off."

In this content-hungry environment that we live in, it can be hard to pump out as many stories as the Internet calls for. This is especially true for celebrity bloggers, and more often than readers likely realize, entire stories are written around paparazzi images and photo assumptions.

Celebrities get caught running errands, picking their noses, and makeup-less all the time. We all would if photographers were following us around...okay, maybe not picking our noses, but still. Often, these less than desirable situations get turned into stories and that's where the unfairness kicks in. Angelina Jolie is scowling, so "Brad called off the wedding" or Victoria Beckham trips, "she must be drunk!"

Canada's punk princess released the first single off her forthcoming fifth album this week. It's called "Here's To Never Growing Up" and the cover features Avril holding a teddy bear with heavy kohl-rimmed eye makeup. The song is essentially a mix of Avril's incessant Sk8er Boi sound with a heavy dose of Ke$ha, so yeah—it's horrible. But as a style blogger, Avril's refusal to evolve her sound is irrelevant to me. What I'm hung up on is the image.
