Few people can bounce from dark to light hair, yet celebs - mostly due to movie roles, I suppose - seem to make the switch all the time. For many, it works out shockingly well. For others, however, not so much.

Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, and Nicole Ritchie are just a few of the blonde celebs who have worn brown well - really well, in fact. But there are a few more names that I would love to add to that list.

At what age does brightly coloured hair get old? According to Kelly Osbourne, it's 30. The E! Fashion Police co-host was recently quoted saying, "Once you're 30, you look like a right idiot walking around with rainbow, bright colour hair."

There was a lot of chatter on the web about Cameron Diaz looking hot at the Versace Haute Couture show, so like any good celebrity follower, I clicked on the pics to see. Did they forget a word in there? Cause I think she looks a hot mess. Not to be cruel, but honestly I don't get it.

Alright then, now that that's out of the way, let's take a look at why merkins are back in the news…

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has come out swinging against the luxury spa chain Completely Bare. The New York-based spa, which happens to be owned by one of the Real Housewives from the Big Apple, has added a fox fur merkin to their list of services.  They are calling it the "Foxy Bikini" and the cheesiness doesn't come cheap at $225 USD. Another addition to the menu is "The Carnivale Bikini" at $195 USD which consists of neon feathers (taped? glued? do I want to know?) to the business below. Having been to Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, I'm sad to admit that these feather merkins would fit right in. As for the fox fur version, I'm coming up empty handed on a fitting occasion.

As if headbands weren't already enjoying newfound popularity, Sunday night's Golden Globes certainly helped to give them a resounding final push. The truth is, the headband is a bit of an unsung hero. Often dismissed as school girl chic, it doesn't get its proper due. A well-adorned, well-placed headband can be the ultimate in sophistication.

My hair always falls short when I'm short on time. Luckily this holiday season I've built an arsenal of products and I recommend every gal follow suit.

Most women who wear their hair short wear it well. For example: Halle Berry, Emma Watson, Ginnifer Goodwin, and perhaps best of all, Michelle Williams. The blonde actress who stars in My Week With Marilyn recently revealed, however, that the only people who like her sheared locks are gay men and girlfriends. "Straight men across the board are not into this hair!" she told ELLE magazine. And it's true.

5:10 - Jump on my bike en route to the venue.

5:12 - Crap! My tire is flat.

5:14 - Jump on the streetcar.

5:35 - Getting off the streetcar I notice a taxi stopped in the middle of Queen Street. A man jumps from the car, hair perfectly gelled, phone pressed to his ear. As he whizzes past me and into the nearby fabric store, I see that it's Stephen Wong, one half of Greta Constantine. Last minute run, I suppose. He looks stressed.

I've confessed that I'm a haircut slacker here before, but it's that time again and I still seem to be dragging my feet. It's not that I don't love to get my haircut - shampoo, head massage, pampering, yes puh-lease - it's just that the services are so expensive.

Emma Stone's latest shade of red, may be wooing co-star Ryan Gosling on the set of their new flick (at least his character, anyway), but it turns out rouge may not be the way to a man's heart…or a woman's womb.
