Reese Witherspoon: From Brunette To Blond And All's Forgiven?

Wenn20313530
Since her unfortunate ride in the back of a cop car, Reese Witherspoon has been noticeably more accommodating to the paparazzi. As such we've been inundated with photos of her every move. "Reese smiles at soccer practice", "Reese and family at the airport", and now "Reese as a blond!" I'm not saying it's anything more than coincidence, but…okay, yes I am.

The Best Bathing Suits For Your Body Type

Every woman dreads bathing suit shopping. No matter how prepared you are, a combination of bad lighting and ill-fitting cuts can lead to painful results. While I can't do anything about the fluorescent bulbs, I can at least give some fit tips that will serve as a shortcut to the best suit for your shape.

LOOK FOR: Cut-outs and colour blocks can be helpful in creating definition. Dark side panels and curvy cut-outs in the side seams will create the illusion of a drawn-in waist.

5 Tips For Transitional Dressing

Wenn20283627Model Alessandra Ambrosio in the perfect transitional outfit with a light jacket, scarf, and ankle skimmers.

The sun has finally come out to play and we're all just so excited that we forgot to put our clothes on! That's right - I see you out there in your short shorts and muscle tanks acting like it's mid-July. Listen, I'm just as excited as anyone to peel off the winter coat, but there are a few ground rules for transitional dressing; the main one being that it's a transition.

Here are a few of my favourite ways to ease into the warmth:

A Big Week For Diversity

NBA centre Jason Collins came out as a gay man on the cover of Sports Illustrated Monday. His heralding story was heard loudly over various media channels with everyone from Great Aunt Betty to President Obama applauding with resounding cheer.

For H&M's turn at diversity this week, the message is much more subtle. There, on the retailer's homepage, sits a plus-sized model in beachwear with no mention of the words "plus" or "sized" anywhere near. While this message hasn't been heard quite as loudly as Jason's, for women facing a notoriously slim-model-lovin' fashion industry, the impact has equal value.

Do You Share Clothes With Your Mom?

Wenn20291805    Wenn3889065
Kris Jenner this week sporting the same Valentino dress daughter Kim wore in May of 2012.

Kris Jenner, the original K in the Kardashian clan, hit the red carpet this week in a Valentino dress. The red lace number drew quite a bit of attention, but not because of its figure hugging fit. It was because it once hugged the hips of Kris' younger daughter Kim.

Of course this now gives the weekly rags a perfect "who wore it better" scenario, but beyond that, I can't really see what the big deal is. The look is age appropriate in both cases, and really - doesn't it make sense that there is a like-mother-like-daughter element to our fashion sense?

Street Style: AGO Massive Goes For Gold

GP4_1547
The glitterati of Toronto descended on the Art Gallery of Ontario last week for Massive, its annual fund- and ceiling raising event. The party boasted big numbers with a sold out crowd of 1,800 in attendance and even bigger fashions.

Thanks to the evening's theme, "Gold," there was plenty of style fodder in and among the art. Ladies donned metallic sequins and threads with guilded accessories and sparkling makeup, while even the men played nice to the theme with a handful of golden bow-ties throughout the crowd.

It can be tough to find a balance between style and costume for these types of events, so I thought I would point out a few of the ladies who did it best:

Durex Launches A First In Wearable Technology

There officially isn't a thing your smartphone can't do—and that includes foreplay. Thanks to a new line of underwear by Durex - and a corresponding iPhone app - you can now control genital stimulation from the touch of a screen. They are calling it Fundawear.

With a pair of briefs for the boys and a bra and panty set for the ladies, Fundawear intends to give your partner the reins to your privates. The app provides a map of erogenous zones, allowing them to control the location and sensation of vibrations in your undies from anywhere in the World Wide Web.

Dove Strikes A Chord With New Campaign

This week Dove posted a new advertising campaign—the latest in a string of successful marketing tactics focused on self-esteem as opposed to product. Presented as a mini-documentary, it involves a sketch artist hidden from a series of women as they describe themselves. Then those sketches are juxtaposed against a series of drawings, done by the same artist, depicting the same women, however this time as described by strangers. The difference is remarkable.

Cigarettes Are So Passé

Wenn20270714
Among the fashion Hits and Disses at the MTV Movie Awards this weekend, one particular eyesore stood out. Actress Hana Mae Lee wore a smushed cigarette butt as a hat—presumably, her brain being the ashtray. Not only is this one heck of a tacky look and statement, but hasn't she heard? Cigarettes are so passé. There's a new nicotine in town and, like any good accessory in 2013, it's electronically charged.

Why Sometimes - And Only Sometimes - I Feel Bad For Celebrities

20130413_kza_kw1_791
In this content-hungry environment that we live in, it can be hard to pump out as many stories as the Internet calls for. This is especially true for celebrity bloggers, and more often than readers likely realize, entire stories are written around paparazzi images and photo assumptions.

Celebrities get caught running errands, picking their noses, and makeup-less all the time. We all would if photographers were following us around...okay, maybe not picking our noses, but still. Often, these less than desirable situations get turned into stories and that's where the unfairness kicks in. Angelina Jolie is scowling, so "Brad called off the wedding" or Victoria Beckham trips, "she must be drunk!"
